Vans Book: Video Chapters

Mark June 1st on your calendars as Vans readies for the release of a very special book. Outlining one of the most iconic skate and lifestyle brands around, Vans’ history surely leaves no shortage of educational and cultural gems. In a ramp-up to the release, a series of videos have been created covering various aspects of the book. Among the initial videos include Birth of Icons which documents some of Vans’ early history and a video on the notable Steve Caballero and his effect on the skate world. As mentioned, the book drops June 1st with the videos available for viewing at Vans.com/VansBook.

FRAT x mita sneakers x New Balance MT576S Bamboo Rake

Combining the upper of one of New Balance’s favorites, the 576 and the midsole of a cult-classic MT580, the latest franken-sneaker to emerge out of New Balance is the MT576S. The shoe created as a collaborative effort between FRAT and mita sneakers features a number of noteworthy features. A glow-in-the-dark upper features various embroideries on the heel and tongue area as well as a mesh forefoot midsole. Available at mita on April 4th, 2009.

Vans Spring ‘09 Authentic

Vans affordable, go-to spring/summer shoe, the Authentic, makes a return in four fresh colors - Green (above), Blue, Orange, and Pink. The shoes also feature striped and gringham-print linings. Nice. Looks for these at a Vans retailer near you.

Vans Syndicate x Eric Dressen Half-Cab

Steve Cabarello on the Vans Half Cab

Legendary skate pro Steve Caballero sat down to chat about the evolution of his signature sneaker lineup with Vans. Mostly interesting is the transformation from the original full cab into the now iconic half cab silhouette. Steve also mentions his favorite colorway and how the half cab came about. Vans Sk8 Hi Patent Leather Pack

As part of the Vans Spring/Summer 2009 Collection, the Sk8 Hi comes in four bright patent leather options. Each Sk8 Hi features several colors on the upper, all coming in patent leather. The pack is now available at ABC-Mart.

IPATH - THE ROOTS PACK

IPATH have always released some very innovative models, and they are back again with the release of the Roots Pack which feature 3 very awesome looking profiles. This pack consists of 2 hi-tops and 1 low, each featuring traditional IPATH colorways. If you aren’t a fan of hi-tops, the low-tops will do you well. Look for these now!

adidas x House Of Pain x Concepts Basketball Jersey

The other day we gave you the run down on the new adidas x House Of Pain Campus 80 and already mentioned that Concepts would be collaborating with adidas on a special basketball jersey for the release. The Celtics jersey comes with a collaborative logo patch, featuring all partners involved in the project. It comes in very limited quantities and will only be given to friends and family. 5 signed jerseys will be raffled at the event, taking place at Concepts on March 17th.

Nike Skateboarding - P.Rod III Video

Thanks to Nice Kicks we have a video of the upcoming P.Rod III Nike SB sneaker. The third P.Rod seems its a little slimmed down and has a better board feel than the previous sneakers. Stay tuned as more information develops.

Nike Spring/Summer 2009 Air Jordan 1 Retro & Air Jordan 1 High Strap

The Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro and Air Jordan 1 High Strap have released in some interesting colorways over the last couple of months. That trend will not stop any time soon with lots more coming in April, May and June. The all time classics gets canvas treatments, special make-ups for Cinco de Mayo, polka dot designs and a nice premium woven upper as well. Overall actually not bad. Our favorites are the woven upper Air Jordan 1 Retro and the canvas styles.

Alife x Nike Air Force 1 Release | Sneaker & T-Shirt

This coming Saturday, March 14th, Alife will be releasing their much anticipated collaboration with Nike on the Air Force 1. The sneaker will be accompanied by a t-shirt. The release takes place at noon at the A.R.C. Sports Store at 157 Rivington Street.

HUF x DVS Original Intent: Dirtbag Crew

s a nod to Keith Hufnagel and his homies, the Dirtbag Crew is the theme for the latest DVS Original Intent team-up. The three-pack of shoes revolve around one of Hufnagel’s signatures, the DVS Huf Runner 5. Some nice solid color combination include tonal blue, black&purple and gray. Look for VA to drop these on March 19th as well as stateside releases at HUF in LA and SF.

Green Label Relaxing x New Balance CM577

Once again Japanese store Green Label Relaxing worked with New Balance, this time on the less commong CM577. The sneaker comes in a very nice finish, using white, off-white, light grey tones and some refelcting materials. It also features the ENCAP technology by New Balance.

House of Pain x adidas Originals Campus 80

Celebrating their Irish roots, legendary Hip-Hop act House of Pain (Danny Boy, DJ Lethal & Everlast) teamed up with adidas Originals on a special St. Paddy’s Day version of their classic Campus 80 model. The kicks, designed by Danny Boy, feature a green suede upper with the band’s crest embroidered on the tongue and “Fine Malt Lyrics” stamped on the side of the iconic three stripe design. Limited to only 1500 pairs, Concepts will be amongst the first to launch the sneaker on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) with an exclusive signing session by House of Pain alongside a triple collabo Boston Celtics jersey release.
